19. Photographer’s Luck
Wildlife photographer Nick Jans was minding his own business and relaxing on his porch near Mendenhall Glacier one day back in 2003, when he suddenly saw a stately creature emerging from the woods. It was a jet-black wild wolf who caught the attention of Jans’ dog Dakotah. Since the wolves aren’t exactly what you call a friendly animal, Jans was understandably concerned regarding the two animals meeting face to face.
