9. West Highland White Terrier
Some people refer to West Highland White Terrier as a “big dog in a small dog’s body.” The breed comes from Scottish Highlands, where it was prized as a tough, efficient hunter of vermin. These Terriers are overtly excited, energetic and determined, which is great for hunting but may be harmful for your household. Walking it in a park will be quite an adventure, as it will go after every single squirrel, ball or dog it sees on its way — following its prey is rooted deeply in its DNA. They also don’t tolerate any cruelty: hurt them once and you hurt them forever.
