There are usually two types of news stories regarding the lottery: someone’s winning big and someone’s going bankrupt soon after, while the actual secrets behind the victories rarely get exposed. But Richard Lustig, the man who won the grand lottery prize seven times, decided to share his tricks with the world and even wrote a book called Learn How to Increase Your Chances of Winning the Lottery. We’ve got his secrets here for you.
10. Richard Lustig’s Story
Florida native Richard Lustig is a truly fascinating man. He is considered one of the luckiest men in the nation and publications like Forbes all line up to interview him. The reason is his incredible luck in playing the lottery. But turns out it wasn’t just luck, as revealed in Lustig’s book Learn How to Increase Your Chances of Winning the Lottery.
To give you some context, Lustig won seven lottery grand prizes and has enough expertise to create his own theory of winning (and winning big). “When the lottery came to Florida, I was like everybody else: ‘Wow, buy lottery tickets, win a lot of money, retire, buy a big fancy yacht, whatever, blah, blah, blah.’” But as the man eventually realized, there was much more to lottery winning than this initial dollar rush.
9. Everyone’s a Loser
Beginner’s luck isn’t something Lustig is familiar with. As he would later say, his early lottery affairs were rather disappointing. “Like everybody else, I was running out and buying haphazardly, buying quick picks, I mean buying tickets with no plan, or no method, or whatever. Like everybody else, I was losing all the time.”
